Why I Built This
The idea for SleekNova came from frustration.
I was trying to find a gift for my girlfriend. I'd spent hours scrolling through "Top 50 Gifts for Her" lists - each one recommending the same generic products with suspiciously perfect reviews. The more I searched, the more overwhelmed I felt. Nothing felt right. Nothing felt special.
That night, it hit me: I've spent my career building AI and data systems. I know how powerful these tools can be for finding signal in noise. Why wasn't anyone applying this to gift discovery?
That's when SleekNova was born - not as another gift guide, but as a product intelligence lab. A place where AI does the heavy lifting of research, but human taste makes the final call. Where every recommendation is backed by data, not just vibes.
The internet is drowning in affiliate-driven "best of" lists written to rank, not to help. I wanted to build the opposite: a filter that actually works. A system that finds the 1% of products worth giving.
The Build
SleekNova is 13 years of product curation instinct codified into a custom AI research system. I didn't write code; I architected logic. Every threshold, every "Skip if" condition, every verification rule reflects patterns I've seen across thousands of product decisions. The AI executes at scale. The taste is mine.
So there is no ambiguity about how this site is made: AI does the research at scale, and I make every final call. AI reads the sources, maps the claims and runs the audits. It never decides what gets published. I sign off on every product, every score and every rejection, under my own name, and every factual claim here traces back to a source you can go and read yourself.

Every rule we change, and every claim of ours that turned out to be wrong, is published with a date. That includes the ones we caught ourselves.

SleekNova Labs operates as an independent product intelligence entity. Our "office" is a network of research systems, data pipelines, and one human editor, all focused on one question: Is this gift worth giving?
AI scouts. Human decides. Our systems scan thousands of products and verify every factual claim against source documents. Technology does the heavy lifting so that I can spend my attention on the part it cannot judge: taste. I make the final call on whether a gift is actually special, on every product, without exception.
The System
I direct a custom AI verification pipeline. It runs in passes, and every pass has to leave its evidence behind: the sources it read, the claims it mapped, the checks it ran. One pass exists purely to attack the others, and where it finds a discrepancy that cannot be reconciled against a source, the product is rejected. Nothing reaches the site on an AI's say-so, and nothing reaches it on mine alone either.
The result: brands that pass our 152-point audit earn their place in The Brand Index, ranked by verified quality, not paid placement.
But here's what the tech doesn't tell you: every product still passes through human and AI verification together, and the slow part is the tracing, not the writing. The system proposes. I decide. And the system itself is never finished, which is why what changes inside it gets published with a date instead of being announced.

Every product we recommend is evaluated using 152 data points, from source verification to gift psychology to our Grounded Truth audit.
Every claim on a product page is traced to the source it came from. When one of ours turns out to be wrong, we publish the correction with a date rather than quietly editing the page.

Every product is researched against its primary sources before a word is written about it. Then it faces "The Skeptic," our adversarial audit protocol built to prove our own research wrong. We estimate about 1% of what we look at makes the cut.

Our SleekNova Score isn't a black box. It's a transparent formula: 35% WOW, 25% GLOW, 25% MOMENT, 15% TRUST.

We evaluate products as gifts, not just products. Unwrap appeal, emotional resonance, and "will they actually love this?" matter here.

Every product page includes a "Skip if" section. We're not trying to sell everyone on everything. If it's not right for you, we say so.

Before founding SleekNova Labs, I spent over a decade as the founder of FitChef, where we used data and AI to generate millions of personalized nutrition plans.
My career has been defined by one mission: using technology to find "The Signal" in the noise. Whether it's helping someone find the perfect meal for their health or the perfect gift for a loved one, the challenge is the same - high-level data verification combined with human-centric results.
SleekNova is the evolution of that mission. The same systems thinking that filtered millions of food combinations to find the 1% that fits a specific person's health goals now filters thousands of products to find the 1% that makes a meaningful gift.
Every product recommendation is personally reviewed before publishing. Every score has a written justification. Every claim is linked to its source.

A Note on How We Make Money
Let's be direct: SleekNova earns affiliate commissions when you purchase through our links. This is how we keep the site free and ad-free.
But here's what we promise: affiliate commissions never influence our selections or scores. A product that pays 1% commission gets evaluated the same as one that pays 15%.
In fact, some products on SleekNova don't have affiliate programs at all, and we recommend them anyway because they're great gifts. We'd rather recommend the right gift with no commission than the wrong gift with one.
