Want Your Product on SleekNova?
Most products we evaluate do not make it: 198 of the 583 we have taken all the way to a verdict were rejected, and we published every one. The ones that pass become the lead recommendation for what they are best at.
What Getting Featured Means
You Become the Lead Recommendation
We do not write "10 Best" lists. Every product we publish is matched to the specific people and occasions it actually suits, and it leads the answer for those. "Great for anyone" is not a recommendation, so we do not make one.
You Get the Story Told Right
Your product gets a record of 152 fields, not a blurb: a written verdict, the maker story, buyer stories written for specific relationships, and every factual claim traced back to the document it came from before it publishes.
You Get Proof That Compounds
Featured products can display the SleekNova Verified badge, a trust signal that says "independently vetted, not paid placement." That badge lives on your site.
Learn about the badge →The Honest Truth
We reject products from MoMA Design Store.
We have said no to items stocked at Nordstrom, featured in Architectural Digest, and loved by design editors. Not because they are bad. Because they did not clear our thresholds. One case is public: a fountain pen carried by MoMA, the Guggenheim and the Fondation Louis Vuitton, rejected on Trust, because three museum buyers are not the same thing as verifiable customer evidence.
Read that rejection →We publish our rejections.
Products we chose to evaluate and turned down go to Lab Notes with the full reasoning and the numbers behind it. This is not to shame anyone. It is the only thing that makes an approval mean something.
We do not accept payment for placement.
No sponsored posts. No paid reviews. No premium listings. If your product is on SleekNova, it earned its place against the same scored standard as everything else. That is the only way the badge means anything.
If We Say No
We do not publish a rejection a brand did not ask for. If you submit your product and it does not pass, you get the reasons privately and nothing goes on the site.
That is a rule, not a loophole, so here is the reasoning in the same breath. Every rejection in our Lab Notes is a product we chose to evaluate, without being asked. That record does not shrink by a single entry because of this policy. A brand that submits is doing something different, and answering it with a public failure page would guarantee that only the desperate ever submit.
What you can count on either way: a real reason tied to the numbers, not a form letter. If the gap is one you can close, we say which one it is.
The Standard
The SleekNova Score is four dimensions, each weighted, each measuring a different part of what makes a gift land. A product has to reach 8.0 overall and clear two absolute floors, one on TRUST and one on the Confidence Score. Those floors are what a spectacular number elsewhere cannot buy past.
WOW
Does it land as a find rather than a purchase? We are looking for products that feel discovered, not products that are everywhere.
What we measure, and why 35% →GLOW
Does it photograph beautifully? Gifts are visual. If it does not hold up in an image, it does not hold up in a recommendation.
What we measure, and why 25% →MOMENT
Can we picture the unwrapping and the reaction? If we cannot see the gift moment, we cannot write it, and we will not invent it.
What we measure, and why 25% →TRUST
Can we verify this independently? Reviews, press, community evidence. Your own marketing copy carries no weight here, and this is where most of our rejections happen.
What we measure, and why 15% →Minimum to Feature
The Confidence Score is not a measure of quality. It measures how much evidence sits behind the verdict, scored from 0 to 100 across five factors. A product can be excellent and still score low here, because nobody independent has written anything about it yet.
The Process
Submit
You reach out with your product. Tell us what it is and why you think it belongs.
Triage
We decide whether it fits the catalog at all. Most submissions end here, and that is normal. We are looking for a specific aesthetic and real gift-worthiness.
Evaluate
Full verification: 152 data points, every claim checked against a source document, with a human checkpoint at each phase. This is the slow part, and we do not rush it for anyone.
Verdict
Featured on SleekNova, or not right for us at this time with the reasons sent to you. Rejections we started ourselves are published; submissions are not, and the block above says why.
If we move past triage, your product is already in rare company. That still does not mean it passes. We have rejected products at every stage, including after full verification. The bar does not lower because we like you.
What We're Looking For
Worth a Look
- Design-forward aesthetic (museum-shop worthy)
- Independent validation we can verify
- Gift-worthy (keeps, not consumes)
- Priced where our catalog lives (today, $12.95 to $950)
- Ships reliably to the US
- Clear maker or brand story
Not Right For Us
- Mass-market (available everywhere)
- No independent validation
- Generic or trend-chasing design
- Already on every gift guide
- Dropshipped or white-label
- Perishables and cut flowers
If your product could be in the MoMA Design Store, we might consider it.
If it is already on every gift guide, we probably will not.
Questions Brands Ask
Can we pay to be featured?
No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored slot and no premium listing on SleekNova, at any price. Affiliate links may earn us a commission after a product has already passed on its own merits, and that never touches a score or a verdict.
If we submit and you reject us, will you publish that?
No. We do not publish a rejection a brand did not ask for. You get the reasons privately. The rejections in our Lab Notes are all products we chose to evaluate ourselves, without being asked.
Does that not make your rejection record convenient for you?
It is a fair challenge, so here is the honest answer. Our published rejections can only ever be products we picked, which does mean nobody in that record volunteered. What it does not mean is that the record is soft: those are products we wanted to like, including ones carried by major museum shops, and we published the numbers that killed them anyway. The alternative, a public failure page for every brand with the nerve to ask, would empty the submission queue of everyone except the people with nothing to lose.
What counts as independent validation?
Evidence about your product that you did not write and cannot edit, and that we can find and check ourselves: verified purchase reviews with written experience in them, editorial coverage, retailer listings, community discussion. We do not set a magic review count, because a product with forty thoughtful reviews and one with four hundred one-line ratings are not carrying the same evidence. What matters is that it is independent, that it comes from more than one place, and that it holds up when we read it.
We were rejected before. Can we come back?
Yes, and it has happened. If the reason we said no has changed, the verdict can change with it. We published a re-evaluation that went the other way once the evidence caught up.
Read that case →How long does it take?
Triage is fast. Full verification is not, because every claim has to be traced to a source document and signed off by a human. We will not quote you a turnaround we cannot hold to.
Think You Belong Here?
Reach out with your product URL and why you think it deserves a spot. We read everything. No response does not mean your product is not good. It means it is not right for what we cover.
Before you reach out, ask yourself:
- Can someone outside your company find evidence about this product, in more than one place, that you did not write?
- Is this an original design, not white-label or dropshipped?
- Can we verify a real founder or maker story?
If you answered no to any of these, we are probably not the right fit yet.
