Every Rule Record Now Points at the Page It Is About

Our Decision Logs shelf holds the rules this system runs on. What a score is made of. What gets a product through the door. What a page is allowed to say. How we check ourselves.

Until now, reading one of them left you nowhere. The rule ended, and the page ended with it. The rule that sets our Confidence floor decides which products we will not publish a verdict on, and the page that shows you those verdicts sat one click away with nothing pointing at it.

Sixteen rules, sixteen dead ends.

Every rule record now closes with the same two lines: what the rule constrains, and the page where you can watch it constraining something. A scoring rule sends you to The Bar. A qualifying rule sends you to where we explain where a gift comes from. A publishing rule sends you to the Skeptic Protocol. A self-check rule sends you to who checks the checker.

The link is not typed into each record. Each rule already carried a field saying which part of our work it constrains, added when we grouped this shelf last week, and the destination is read from that. Nothing about the link can drift out of step with the rule, because there is nothing to keep in step.

We got it wrong the first time and the fix is worth reporting. The first build named the destination page on all four kinds of rule, which is the cleaner way to do it. Two of them go to two different parts of the same page, so both printed the identical line. Each rule page was correct on its own; put beside each other, the pair said nothing was different when something was. Nothing we own would have caught that, because every check we have reads one page at a time. Looking at the four of them together did.

One thing we deliberately did not add. The block says what a rule constrains. It does not say the rule is currently in force. We hold ourselves to a plain standard here: a claim gets published when a field holds it, and nothing on these records records whether a rule is still standing. It is the strongest thing this shelf owns and we are not saying it until we can back it.
